Stories with Trees no. 5

Jacques de Plomb loved to hear the sound of his own voice. So did others. A thousand pines stood and listened.

Hilarious. I’m enjoying your blog, glad to see you still love the old samurai movies, I think you were the one that got me into them in the first place all those years ago.

Thanks. Well, you know my source material!

I wish the Alphonse Allais stuff I have were short enough to copy here. He has a story of Léon Dumachin’s honeymoon in Kleinberg that I think you would enjoy.

Regarding samurai films: Yes, if you like them, then definitely check out Sleepy Eyes of Death. There are a few other series, such as Tange Sazen and Red Peony Gambler that are interesting also. I should probably write some short reviews of some of them since, for a lot of the films, there aren’t any reviews on the internet.
