Director: Eugenio Martín
English Title: The Bounty Killer (not to be confused with the 1965 film of the same name)
Another reason to consider Tomas Milian one of the truly great actors of cinema.
This Spanish production starring the aforementioned Milian and Richard Wyler is an extremely low budget affair. But this just proves how much style, story and acting can do. I watched the awful Revenge of the Sith the night before, and can say without hesitation that this western is infinity better, though it must have cost a fraction of a fraction of the cost to produce.
Stelvio Cipriani gives a wonderful score and Milian, in this his first western, one of the most impressive final scenes in the genre. Add to this stylish photography and a good supporting cast.
Everyone won’t dig this, but I certainly did.
