As reported here, in the Washington Post, the Chinese government is continuing its suppression of the basic human rights of the Tibetans.
When it becomes illegal to even possess a photo of a person (the Dalai Lama) you know that the situation must be horrible. This is repression in its worst form. That the government is trying to force these monks to publicly denounce their spiritual leader says a lot.
What is truly shocking though, is that the leaders of the world have been for the most part silent and the fiasco of the 2008 Olympics is allowed to continue. I truly hope the athletes of the world will do more than the leaders and choose to boycott the games.
