The Architect review, Asimov’s
December 23, 2012There is a nice review of The Architect in Paul Di Filippo’s column over at Asimov’s.
Quote: “If Franz Kafka and J.G. Ballard had collaborated to rewrite Ayn Rand’s The Fountainhead, we might have seen a volume half as wonderfully demented as Brendan Connell’s The Architect (hardcover, £11.99, 124 pages, ISBN 978-1-848633-23-0). As it stands, the phrase “Who is Alexius Nachtman?” might one day come to rival Rand’s line of “Who is John Galt?” This is a Poe-worthy parable about folly, gullibility, megalomania, status-seeking and spiritual presumption that perfectly suits our Bernie-Madoff-sickened era.”
